KIUNO is a clothing brand built around shape, structure, and balance. Each garment is designed to support the body and influence posture through thoughtful construction and controlled volumes. The focus is placed on how clothing feels when worn, how it holds the silhouette, and how it creates presence without effort.

Kiuno means waist in Swahili. Kioo means mirror.

The founders

Safiyatou

Safiyatou is co-founder of KIUNO.
Her vision begins with shape. Not as an aesthetic choice, but as a foundation for presence, posture, and how one occupies space.

She approaches clothing as a silent support system. Each piece is designed to serve the body through cut, volume, and movement, allowing the wearer to feel immediately aligned, without distraction or excess.

Rooted in Senegal, her sensibility draws from the idea of armor as something functional and lived in. Garments are made to hold, to move, and to last, offering strength without noise and expression without display.

She believes simplicity demands precision, and that confidence does not require performance.

Bachir

Bachir is co-founder of KIUNO.
With a background in communication and a strong sensibility for art direction, his work is guided by clarity, balance, and intention.

He is driven by a deep appreciation for beauty, not as decoration, but as something felt, studied, and translated into form. His approach seeks harmony through precision, where every element has a reason to exist.

Calm, restraint, and inner freedom shape his vision. He designs garments that offer stability rather than spectacle, allowing the wearer to feel grounded, confident, and fully themselves.
